SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Wednesday, May 31, 2017) – Regardless of the position he is playing on the field, Alex Zaragoza has been a staple for the Southern California Sports Club at the 2017 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).

The 21-year-old American is one of the most versatile players of SoCal SC’s roster and has already been used as a left back and as a left midfielder. Interchanging the positions makes no harm to Zaragoza as he is the second top goal scorer of the team is the season with four goals and had also amassed several assists on SoCal’s first ten matches.

“I used to play as a left midfielder and this season has been the first I’ve also played as a left back”, says Zaragoza. “I’ve managed to score some goals during the season and I hope I can score some more”.

And Zaragoza’s amazing performance is not being unnoticed by his teammates. Captain Eric Gonzalez, who also scored four goals on the season, praises the defender’s versatility and scoring touch as key elements of SoCal SC’s game.

“Alex is always putting in the maximum to score as many as he can in the training sessions and it’s clearly been paying off as he’s been scoring vital goals for us”, commented the 22-year-old midfielder. “He has been put in multiple positions because his speed and technique are something that helps us a lot.  His versatility in attacking and defending for us has proven time and time again that we can depend on him on getting to the attacking third whether it is putting in final crosses or scoring goals have helped us in getting goals and results”.

Alex Zaragoza and the SoCal SC return to the field this Saturday (June 3) when the team hosts conference leaders FC Arizona at the Fairplex at 6PM (PT). Tickets are already on sale.
