SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Friday, May 19, 2017) – After a bye last week on its National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) schedule, the Southern California Sports Club is ready to return to the field this Saturday (May 20), as the team faces City of Angels FC at the Fairplex at 6PM (PT). It will be the team’s first game on the second half of the regular season.
The game is vital to SoCal SC’s aspirations on the season as the team currently sits seventh at the West Southwest Conference with eight points (two wins, two ties, four losses). City of Angels FC amassed a single point so far (one tie, eight losses) and sits last at the division.
On this match, SoCal SC will be commanded by Interim Head Coach Samuel Bernabe, as Coach Daniel Musatti is serving a three-game suspension after he was sent off against FC Arizona two weeks ago.
The two teams met on their very first games of the 2017 season, when SoCal SC defeated City of Angels FC 5-1 on the road to open its NPSL campaign with a dominating win. After two months, midfielder Jorge Moreno knows that the expansion franchise might offer a bigger challenge this time.
“It is not going to be easy”, Moreno said. “Every team on this league progressed as the season went on, so we are ready for a tough match, but we must to recuperate our confidence”.
