SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Thursday, Apr. 20 2017) – The Southern California Sports Club announced six roster moves on its 2017 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) roster with three players being released and three others being signed by the club.
The club added 18-year-old center back Joao Camargos, from Brazil, 24-year-old midfielder Bryan Orta, from the United States, and 27-year-old fullback Kleyner Bejarano, from Colombia, who immediately becomes the team’s oldest player.
Departing are 23-year-old center back Ricardo Hernandez, 24-year-old fullback Michael Hodis and 22-year-old midfielder Bryan Guzman. All of them are American natives. The club recently parted ways with Soccer Operations Manager Rafael Muchiuti and Assistant Coach/Physical Trainer Sinue Zardo.
“First of all, we’d like to thank Michael, Bryan and Ricardo for their dedication and their professionalism”, said SoCal SC Head Coach Daniel Musatti. “We felt that we needed to make some adjustments on our roster at this moment and we believe that the new players can bring what we need. Joao is a young Brazilian defender who is very strong in the air. Bryan played with Eric (Gonzalez) and Andy (Contreras) before and will be a valuable addition to our midfield both offensively and defensively. And Kleyner brings important experience as he played on the United Soccer League (USL) and on top level leagues in South America and that’s something we feel we missed in some moments of the season”.
SoCal SC’s roster stands now at 28 players, who come from nine countries – 13 from the United States, four from Mexico and Brazil, two from Colombia and one from Argentina, Germany, Honduras, Nigeria and South Korea. Click here to see the full list.
After five matches at the NPSL season, So Cal SC is at the fifth place at the West Southwest Conference standings, with seven points (two wins, two losses, one tie).
The team will play again next Saturday, April 22nd, against the Oxnard Guerreros FC at the Fairplex at 6PM (PT). Tickets are already on sale.
